DESCRIPTION: Born on August 26, 1908 in Guagua, Pampanga. Entered San Carlos Seminary and ordained priest in Rome on October 25, 1931 . Installed as Archbishop of Manila on March 25, 1953 . Elected as the first Filipino Cardinal by Pope John XXIII on March 31, 1960 . Reconstructed the Manila Cathedral. Attended Vatican Council II. Died on September 3, 1973.
