TITLE: Diego Camacho y Avila

DESCRIPTION: A native of Bandajos , Spain . Presented as archbishop on August 19, 1696 . Consecrated in Mexico and took possession of Manila on September 13,1697 . A strong champion of episcopal visits to religious with parishes. Established San Clemente Seminary to foster native clergy vocations. Beautified Manila Cathedral with personal funds and precious ornaments from Guadalajara . Transferred to Mexico where he died as Bishop of Guadalajara in 1712.
