Sta. Isabel College, “Voices at the Cathedral” Champion

Sta . Isabel College emerged Grand Prize Winner in the “Voices at the Cathedral,” a choral competition for the different schools in the Archdiocese of Manila held at Manila Cathedral on December 12, 2008. The said competition was staged to kick-off the Biblia Festival 2008 also held at the Manila Cathedral on December 12, 15-23, 2008.

The choirs interpreted two songs, one of which was “Can You Imagine,” a composition of Fr. Carlo Magno Marcelo. The schools which participated in the competition were Sta. Isabel College, Philippine Women’s University Chorale, University of Asia and the Pacific, Far Eastern University, Lyceum of the Philippines, University of Makati, Adamson University, University of Santo Tomas (College of Architecture) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (Bagong Himig Choir).

Other choirs that won the competition were: University of Makati for the 2nd place and Adamson University for the 3rd place. Judges, Prof. Pacota Narso from PNU, Ms. Marifel Castrisciones and Bp. Arturo Bastes, Chairman of the CBCP Commission on Biblical Apostolate had a hard time in coming up with the decision since the choirs were equally magnificent.
