Manila Archdiocese inaugurates Year of St. Paul To mark the 2000th year of his birth, the Archdiocese of Manila will inaugurate the Year of Saint Paul, the Apostle on June 30. The archbishopric will formally open the special celebration with the Holy Mass at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception at 9 a.m. Fr, Genardo Diwa of the Ministry of Liturgical Affairs announced that no other than Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales will be the presider and homilist. The archdiocese already sent a circular to other parishes, Catholic schools, religious men and women, transparochial communities and other churchbased institutions to inform them about the event. “Let us all come together on June 30 and with joy and praise welcome this year of St. Paul and open our hearts and minds to enlightenment and grace,” Fr. Diwa said. “It will bring to us through an increased understanding and knowledge of the works and writings that our beloved St. Paul the Apostle handed down to us,” he added.
