Church's social arm needs volunteers

Caritas Manila is in need of qualified volunteers to join its social action programs and services.

The agency has been expanding its program to reach out more urban poor families and with the help of volunteers they would be able to reach the families who need their help the most.

“To eradicate poverty the Church needs more volunteers who are determined and willing to serve,” the Caritas said. The target, it said, is not only the traditional approach in services like providing the poor with basic necessities, “but also to create a Christian community with strong social conscience.”
